The other side of Yellowstone
Yellowstone canyon and the upper and lower falls were beautiful. On this day we saw buffalo, elk, grizzly bears, antelopes and deer.
Upper falls of the Yellowstone Canyon.
Buffalo! Quick, take a picture!
Yellowstone - Geysers
Yellowstone! This is such a bleak place at times, tons of dead trees and landscapes with post-apocalyptic appearance. I took some videos with my phone, I recommend you watch them all!
Beehive Geyser - Forward to about 30 seconds in.
Craters of the Moon
Walk over lava in 90+ Deg F heat, and then climb 15' down into a collapsed lava tube cave and watch out for the ice and freezing temperatures.
The terrain here was some of the roughest I have ever seen.
On the surface it was sweltering.
Down in the caves there was ice.
Crater Lake
Crater Lake is considered one of the cleanest and purest bodies of water in the world. It is the deepest body of water in the United States. I have never seen water so blue.
This lake was formed 7700 years ago when a volcano collapsed. There is a smaller cone/island created in the lake by later lava eruptions.
My Dad and I hiked this trail:
Garfield Peak
Time: 2 to 3 hours
Length: 1.7 miles one way
Elevation: 7,050 to 8,060 feet
Difficulty: Difficult
Features: Panoramic views. May be closed
until mid-July due to snow.

My Dad looking out over the lake from over 8,000` up.
This is a view of the peak, the trail was officially closed due to snow but we unofficially continued to the top.
Looking back down at the trail and the lake.
Looking in the Caldera of Wizard Island cone.
Reminiscent of the mediterranean.
